Gkikz was born in 2018, driven by a passion to create bold, stylish, and statement-making streetwear. We started as a small offline brand, setting up pop-up stores and selling locally. Our designs quickly resonated with the urban youth, gaining attention for their unique, edgy aesthetics and the fearless attitude they represented. Gkikz became more than just a clothing line—it became a lifestyle for those who refused to blend in.
However, in 2020, the world changed. The COVID-19 pandemic swept across the globe, forcing us to rethink how we operated. With lockdowns in place and offline retail at a standstill, we knew it was time to take Gkikz online. The transition wasn’t easy, but it was necessary to keep the spirit of our brand alive. We poured our creativity into building a digital presence, launching our website, and connecting with our community through social media.
Just when things were starting to look up, we faced another unexpected challenge—our first Instagram account, which had been crucial to our online presence, was suddenly banned. Losing a platform we worked so hard to build felt like a huge setback. But we didn’t let it break us. Instead, we channeled our resilience and determination into creating not just one, but two new Instagram pages: @gkikz and @gkikz.co.
With the unwavering support of our community and our passion to keep pushing forward, both pages quickly grew, amassing over 100k+ followers each. It was a testament to our spirit—no matter the challenges, we would continue to rise. The adversity only made us stronger, and our community stood by us, helping us rebuild and thrive.
But the real turning point for Gkikz came with our Detachable Collection—a revolutionary concept that caught the attention of fashion enthusiasts worldwide. One of our videos showcasing this unique collection went viral, racking up over 20 million views and 1 million likes. The buzz was electric, and suddenly, Gkikz was no longer just a local brand—it was a global sensation.
People loved the creativity and functionality of our detachable designs, and the collection became a massive hit. The viral video brought in millions of views and followers from all over the world, cementing our place as a trendsetter in the fashion industry. The growth was exponential, and it gave us the break we needed to truly go global.
Our biggest triumph came in July 2023, when we launched the highly-anticipated Detachable Collection Drop. The response was beyond anything we had imagined—the entire collection sold out in less than 10 minutes! It was a surreal moment that proved how far Gkikz had come, from a small offline brand to a global streetwear phenomenon.
Today, Gkikz stands as a symbol of resilience, creativity, and innovation. Our journey from a local offline brand to a thriving international presence has been shaped by challenges, but also by our relentless passion and the unwavering support of our community.
